Summary of Guest Lecture on Public Speaking

A Guest Lecture was organized for B.Ed & D.El.Ed. students by Dr. Preeti Tyagi, Visiting Faculty, New Delhi Institute of Management, Delhi. She said that the candidates looking for Jobs must prepare themselves by grooming their personality, enriching their communication skills and definitely building their academic acumen. She told, about the skills of facing interviews & behave in a public gathering. She said that hard work and perseverance is the key to success. He also said that every B.Ed aspirant must keep a watch on day-to-day updates on Education. The session was extremely motivated for Students & ended with the queries raised by the students.

Conduct Methodology:

Planning & Execution:

Dr. Anjali was assigned the responsibility to conduct the Guest Lecture. The Proposal was forwarded to the Management to get it approved. It was accepted on 5th April 2021. Thereafter, Dr. Preeti Tyagi (Visiting Faculty, New Delhi Institute of Management, Delhi.) was approached to conduct the session. He was convinced and sent the course schedule. The Plan of Action was prepared. The work on Guest Lecture was started.

Technical Task:

IT Department was consulted to get technical help if needed. The meeting was created on Microsoft Teams. Ms. Supriya was assigned the responsibility to see the technical support.
Assignment: No assignment is given by the Expert.

Internet Connectivity:

To ensure the best internet speed, the meetings were held through LAN Connections in the Computer Department itself.
In the Guest lecture, Dr. Preeti Tyagi told about the skills of facing interviews & behave in public gatherings. The session was extremely motivated for Students.
The session is closed with a vote of thanks

Outcomes & Objectives Achieved:

• The student understood the public Speaking skills.
• The student understood the importance of dressing accordingly on different Occasions.
• The student identifies the skills for facing the Interview.

Observations and Shortcoming:

• It was observed that while conducting any online activity, the technical support must be well structured.
• The shortcoming of this Guest Lecture is that some of the students do not able to join lectures due to a lack of Connection.

Recommendations for Future Improvements:

A workshop is scheduled for Public Speaking Skills in Future and Assignment must be given to students.
